“This piece was originally designed for a doctor who regularly had to remove her jewellery to wash her hands but wanted to continue to wear her ring at work. I was delighted to work with her to create a piece that is both beautiful and functional”
The original piece was first hand carved in wax in three parts - the body and wings - to produce the feather detail from which casting moulds were made. Each part is then individually cast in silver, gold or rose gold before being hand finished and polished, then sent to Edinburgh for Hallmarking.
The design allows the chain to dynamically slide through the 3 moving pieces of the pendant ensuring it remains centered.
The pendant measures approx 40mm wide wing tip to wing tip and 45mm long from wing tip to tail feathers. The spiga chain measures 18" long with an adjuster ring at 16”.
